No. IBM User Group Nagpur is the IBM user group for this city, and it is run by volunteers from the local community. IBM technology is the subject, not the organiser.
Anything said at a meetup is the speaker's own view, not an IBM statement, and nothing here is an official IBM communication.
No. There is no membership fee and no ticket for a meetup. Venues are lent to us and partners cover the chai, which is the entire budget.
Anyone in or around Nagpur who works with IBM technology or wants to learn it. Students are welcome and there is no experience bar — a good part of the room turned up knowing nothing the first time.
You do not need an employer in the industry, a referral, or a certification.
Roughly once a month, on a weekend, in whichever part of Nagpur has offered us a room. Because the venue moves, it is confirmed about a week ahead on the mailing list rather than fixed in advance.
Hands-on sessions run in the morning; talk evenings start around 5:30 PM.
Whatever the speaker is comfortable with — English, Hindi or Marathi. Slides tend to be in English because the commands are anyway. Nobody has ever been asked to switch.
Yes, and that is most of the schedule. Send a couple of lines about what you did; someone from the crew will help you cut it to the slot and sit through a dry run if you want one.
If thirty minutes feels like a lot, take a five-minute lightning slot first.
