This Code of Conduct applies to community members, attendees, speakers, volunteers, organisers, venue partners, and anyone participating in IBM User Group Nagpur activities.
1. Our Standard
Be respectful. Be constructive. Assume good intent, while taking responsibility for the impact of your behaviour.
Everyone should be able to participate without experiencing harassment, intimidation, discrimination, or unwanted behaviour.

Treat others with courtesy and respect
Listen to different viewpoints and experiences
Keep discussions constructive and relevant
Respect personal boundaries
Follow reasonable instructions from organisers and venue staff
Use community spaces and equipment responsibly
Help maintain a welcoming environment for newcomers
3. Unacceptable Behaviour
Harassment, intimidation, or threats
Discriminatory or hateful conduct
Unwanted sexual attention or inappropriate comments
Personal attacks, bullying, or deliberate humiliation
Unwelcome physical contact
Sharing another person's private information without permission
Disrupting talks, workshops, or community activities
Retaliation against anyone who raises a concern
4. No Hidden Recruiting or Sales Pitches
Community talks should provide genuine technical or educational value. Recruiting, sales, promotional, or product-marketing activity must not be disguised as a community technical talk.
Venue partnerships and community participation do not automatically provide a promotional speaking slot.
5. Photography and Recording
Participants may be photographed or recorded during community activities where recording has been announced. Please respect anyone who asks not to be photographed or recorded.
6. Venue-Specific Conduct
At a partner venue, everyone must follow its reasonable safety, security, access, and facility rules. Leave the venue in the condition in which you found it.
7. Reporting an Incident
Report violations to the IBM User Group Nagpur organising team. Include what happened, where it happened, and whether anyone else witnessed it, as far as you are comfortable sharing.

8. How Reports Are Handled
Reports will be treated seriously and handled as confidentially as reasonably possible. Organisers may speak privately with those involved, ask someone to stop, restrict activity participation, ask someone to leave, or restrict future participation. Immediate action may be taken for serious safety concerns.
9. No Retaliation
Retaliation against a person who raises a concern, supports someone making a report, or participates in an investigation is not acceptable.
10. Good-Faith Participation
Strong opinions, constructive criticism, and respectful debate are welcome. Personal attacks and harassment are not.

IBM User Group Nagpur is a volunteer-run community group. It is not an IBM business entity, and this Code of Conduct is not an official IBM policy or communication.

Privacy
IBM User Group Nagpur is a volunteer-run community group that organises technology-focused meetups and community activities in Nagpur. We respect the privacy of our members, attendees, speakers, volunteers, and venue partners.

Venue partners should not expect to receive the community's attendee list.
4. Event Photography and Recording
Some meetups may be photographed, recorded, or streamed for community documentation and educational purposes. Where recording or photography is planned, the organisers will make reasonable efforts to communicate this to attendees. Anyone with concerns about appearing in community media should contact the organisers.
5. Communications
Community communications may include event announcements, registration or schedule updates, speaker and venue information, and relevant community opportunities. You may request that the organisers stop sending non-essential communications to you.
6. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for community administration, event coordination, documentation, or legitimate operational purposes. When information is no longer required, we may delete or anonymise it.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information under our control from unauthorised access, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. However, no online service or communication system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Venue Responsibility Use venue facilities responsibly, do not damage property, and leave the space clean.
Technical Activities Access only systems, networks, accounts, and data that you are authorised to use.
No Harassment or Misconduct Harassment, threats, violence, theft, vandalism, and other inappropriate behaviour are not permitted.
No Unauthorised Promotion Sales, recruitment, or promotional activities must not be disguised as community sessions.
Organiser Authority Organisers may warn, remove, or restrict participants who violate these rules or create a safety or disruption concern.
Agreement Participation in an IBM User Group Nagpur event means agreeing to these rules, the Code of Conduct, and applicable venue requirements.
